2022 Winter Team training and optional Pitching/catching program

8U through 15U Winter travel team development is for all rostered Westport youth travel players and is run by each teams travel coaches. Each team has pre-season team training skills developmental focusing on hitting, pitching and catching and team defensive practice sessions that will prepare all players for the upcoming 2022 Spring season. Listed below are each teams practice times and the optional pitching/catching programs taking place on Fridays

Head Coach: Colby Olson

Winter baseball travel Pre-Season training consists of 2.25Hrs a week of training broken up into two practices. Monday/Tuesday one hourly hitting specific practice and Sunday 1.25 hour team defensive/Offensive practice. Sessions will focus on developing baseball skills in preparation for the Spring Travel season.

Optional Catching/Pitching specific training is also available. Program information is at the bottom of the page

Clinics will prepare catchers for Spring competition and cover

• receiving
• blocking
• framing
• calling games and giving signs
• throwing mechanics
• and mental aspects of catching

Players will be broken down into groups by ability.

Program focuses on increasing velocity, injury prevention, decreased recovery time and increased strength and mobility.
